WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event features Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker, and Lil’ Yachty vs. Baron Corbin.
One of these is not like the other! Sorry, Cody and Randy.
Here are my Sunday Night’s Main Event predictions.
Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Tatum Paxley vs. Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab
Can they co-exist? It’s the story of WWE friends and foes. Everyone hates each other eventually in this company, which is quite an outlook on life by Triple H and the writing team. But can Charlotte be friends with someone like Paxley? That’s another strange question they seem to be asking. They should win this match to further the idea “The Queen” can do just that…for now.
Winners: Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Tatum Paxley
Lil’ Yachty vs. Baron Corbin
One of the least anticipated matches in Saturday Night’s Main Event history. But hey, that’s just one man’s opinion. The stipulation is that Trick Williams only gets a rematch against Corbin if Yachty can last five minutes with the United States champ. How did we get here? Yachty wins, but no one else does.
Winner: Absolutely No One
Trick Williams vs. (c) Baron Corbin – United States Title
The fact that this has become a multi-match series is hilarious. There’s zero value in Trick losing to Corbin again, so he’s going to win the title. But man has his momentum been thwarted by this feud. Of course, it’s WWE, so maybe that’s the point to lull everyone into thinking Trick Willy can’t win Money in the Bank.
Winner: Trick Williams (NEW United States Champion)
Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker
On one hand, Femi can’t lose. On the other hand, Breakker can’t lose. So, we’ve got ourselves quite a setup here. In all seriousness, you would prefer that both men win this match, and to WWE, the way to accomplish that would be to have a story that both can use coming out of it. They’ll achieve that by a returning Bronson Reed interfering to help Breakker, which should be revealed to be a Paul Heyman call because Heyman wasn’t confident Breakker could win. Then you have Femi vs. Reed, tension between Breakker and Heyman, and the eventual Breakker vs. Reed blowoff once Femi turns his attention back to the title.
Winner: Bron Breakker
Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
Orton doesn’t have Pat McAfee’s help in this match, so it could be an uphill climb. The story is finally what it should be between these former friends (remember: everyone must hate each other), and that sets up an intriguing match. But only if the result is Orton winning. There isn’t much of an argument for Cody winning, as then these two would be in the same spot they were in after WrestleMania 42. Orton has to push Cody to his breaking point, and a victory here would move us closer to that chapter of the story.
Winner: Randy Orton
