Predicting 2027 WWE Champions: Summer Edition

What if we try to predict WWE champions a year from now?

That’s the challenge for this new series. Could be entertaining?

Let’s give it a shot by fast-forwarding to the summer of 2027.

World Heavyweight Champion – Oba Femi

This should be a lock.

WWE appears to be holding off Oba Femi vs. Roman Reigns until WrestleMania 43, and there is only one acceptable result in that match.

If Femi does win the title, he’s not losing it for a while. An absolute slam dunk here.

Undisputed WWE Champion – Cody Rhodes

When in doubt, the QB1 is the pick.

There are plenty of interesting options, such as current champion CM Punk, Gunther, Sami Zayn, and more. I’d also make Trick Williams my wild card.

But a different version of Cody, whether babyface or heel, is a decent bet entering next year’s SummerSlam.

Women’s World Champion – Naomi

Is this wishful thinking? Perhaps.

But the timeline would potentially work. Naomi announced she was pregnant in August 2025, so returning two years later seems possible.

And new mother Naomi on a mission to retrieve what she never lost? That could be storyline gold.

WWE Women’s Champion – Blake Monroe

Surely she won’t still be “coming soon” in one year!

This is another title with a plethora of fascinating options, so take your pick. Monroe should have made her ascent from the United States title level to the world title level, and that gives her a boost into the top candidates.

Let’s do Monroe vs. Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam 2027.

Intercontinental Champion – Je’Von Evans

My guess is that Evans wins the title at WrestleMania 43 to push a potential new era with him and Femi coming out of the biggest shows of the year.

So, it’s not unrealistic to think he’ll be the champion by next July. The fans are invested him, and WWE is invested in him.

That’s a good combination for a future top champion, especially when you have Evans’ unique skills.

Women’s Intercontinental Champion – Kendal Grey

The reigning NXT Women’s Champion should be on the WWE main roster by this point, as I’m not sure WWE can resist delaying her call-up.

She’s too talented.

There are plenty of possibilities at the Intercontinental title level, and most of them include current NXT talent or rising WWE talents like Sol Ruca (the current champ), Lyra Valkyria (currently unhinged), etc.

United States Champion – Logan Paul

This is going to be an unpopular opinion: I’ve changed my stance on Paul.

Initially, I hated the guy. But he’s pretty good in his role. He is also a former United States Champion who likely isn’t slotted for one of the top two titles in WWE. They put the tag titles on him and Austin Theory (another candidate for this spot), and I could see a similar situation with him regaining the U.S. title for the first time since 2024.

A Paul vs. Trick Williams feud would be fun.

Women’s United States Champion – Jacy Jayne

The most “who knows?” championship of the bunch.

WWE has shown little interest in making this title anything substantial on its weekly TV, with Chelsea Green being the lone superstar that they’ve fully invested in with this thing. I’ll pick Jayne due to the Fatal Influence effect. It’s a fantastic group that should have a great run in WWE.

The only potential hesitation is that Jayne is positioned with one of the top women’s titles. It seemed like there was interest in her vs. Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam before the latter’s injury.

WWE Tag Team Champions – Kit Wilson and Elton Prince

I’m only listing one set of tag titles to try to convince WWE to unify the two. There isn’t a consistent focus with the tag team division, so make it easier by doing the roaming champs approach.

And yes, this might be a long shot due to Wilson’s serious neck injury in May 2025. There’s no timeline for his return to the ring, but hopefully all the positive vibes get him to full recovery status and back in action.

If so, put the belts on these two gems.

Women’s Tag Team Champions – Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid

I have no clue on this title. Therefore, give Fatal Influence all the gold!

This is a bit of a bold selection since it seems like Henley and Reid are in line to win the titles from Paige and Brie Bella at Saturday Night’s Main Event, but they don’t have to keep the titles for a year to still be champs by next SummerSlam.

With the mixing and matching WWE does with its tag teams, this could just as easily be AJ Lee and Paige, Monroe and Tiffany Stratton, or Ruca and Zaria.

What are your bold predictions for WWE champions in the summer of 2027? Who should win the gold? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for reading!
