WWE Power Rankings For September 29: Who’s No. 1?

In this debut installment of WWE power rankings, I share thoughts on where things stand with some of the top superstars.

Power rankings are completely subjective and aren’t based on win/loss records like many use for sports. It’s just having fun with the direction of a variety of superstars.

Let’s jump in.

10. Ricky Saints

We’ve gotta show some love to the new NXT Champion. Saints dethroned Oba Femi at NXT No Mercy (my review), which ended the ruler’s nearly 10-month reign at the top.

9. Tiffany Stratton

Speaking of lengthy title reigns, Stratton defeated Jade Cargill and Nia Jax on SmackDown to retain the WWE Women’s Championship. She has held the title for 268 days as of this writing, and is now set for a huge one-on-one match at Crown Jewel against….someone else on this list.

8. Becky Lynch

I doubt ‘The Man’ would be thrilled with this ranking. You know, since she’s used to saying she’s the best. It’s not just her saying it. Sports Illustrated says it. Jokes aside, Becky was pissed on Raw coming off the mixed tag team loss to CM Punk and AJ Lee. What’s her plan to get ‘The Vision’ back on track?

7. Stephanie Vaquer

Vaquer is red-hot at the moment after winning the Women’s World Championship at Wrestlepalooza. She’ll face Stratton at Crown Jewel in what should be a fantastic match, and my early pick is that ‘La Primera’ walks out with the win.

6. Sami Zayn

The United States Title Open Challenge has been a huge boost for SmackDown. Zayn is putting on – sorry, Sheamus – banger after banger after banger, with the most recent coming against NXT star Je’Von Evans. Zayn’s path seems clear as the likely favorite to win the 2026 Royal Rumble.

5. Jey Uso

I’m highly enjoying what WWE is doing with Jey. He’s not a traditional babyface, he’s not a traditional heel. He’s just a man who got to the top of the mountain and is realizing that getting back there is the toughest part of the journey. Keep embracing your inner Roman Reigns, Uce.

4. AJ Lee

Although she didn’t appear on Raw last week, Lee is still one of the top stars in WWE right now. Her pinning Becky at Wrestlepalooza was the right move, and it sets up an eventual showdown for the Intercontinental Championship between the two. Beyond that, the sky is the limit as to what WWE can do with her.

3. Seth Rollins

Just like Becky, Rollins isn’t going to be excited about landing behind his arch nemesis in these rankings. Nonetheless, Rollins is on a collision course with another top champion at Crown Jewel, and it could be one of the best matches in WWE this year.

2. CM Punk

We have to be getting closer to another match between Rollins and Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship. In the meantime, Punk is riding a wave of momentum on Raw, and there is plenty of curiosity as to when the two longtime rivals face off.

1. Cody Rhodes

Cody vs. Rollins is going to be excellent, especially with all the backstory that WWE is already tying into the match. However, after Crown Jewel, Cody may have to turn his focus back to Randy Orton, who gave another stare to the WWE Championship after saving his friend from Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
