Blake’s WWE NXT No Mercy 2025 Review: It’s A New Era

In this WWE NXT No Mercy 2025 review, here are five thoughts on Ricky Saints defeating Oba Femi for the NXT Championship, who helped Jacy Jayne retain the NXT Women’s Championship, and much more.

Let’s jump in.

  1. Ricky Saints is the new face of NXT, and Oba Femi is the future face of WWE.

I picked Femi in this match, but it was with the caveat of the unknown of WWE’s main roster plans for both men. Those plans are now clear. WWE set up a fresh NXT title picture with Saints winning, with possible feuds with Je’Von Evans, Ethan Page, Trick Williams, and others in store for the champ. Meanwhile, Femi is headed to Raw or SmackDown. There’s no need for a rematch, and the only unfinished business he has left in NXT is the rematch with Trick Williams on Tuesday. He has all the tools necessary to be a main event superstar, so let ‘The Ruler’ make the move and start the road to greatness. I’ve seen the fantasy booking on social media for him to either be John Cena’s final opponent or win the 2026 Royal Rumble and face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 42. That’s one way to make a star, but it’s also a lot of pressure on someone who has never had a match outside of the WWE developmental system. Either way, all eyes are on Saints and Femi moving forward.

  1. Who interfered in the Lola Vice vs. Jacy Jayne match?

It seemed unlikely that both Jayne and Femi would be dethroned, so when she won, I was sold on Saints winning. Of course, it wasn’t just a win for The Fatal Influence leader. Fallon Henley was banned from ringside after trying to interfere in the match, which led to a mystery attack from someone in all black. If you read the NXT No Mercy predictions article, you know my guess: Lainey Reid. She wasn’t medically cleared to compete in her scheduled match against Sol Ruca for the WWE Women’s Speed Championship – which Ruca successfully defended against Jaida Parker – but that can easily be used as storyline fuel. It also allows Jayne to favor Reid over Henley, who again could have cost Jayne the title by getting thrown out of the match. Plenty to work with in this significant development.

  1. What’s next for Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe?

The Weaponized Steel Cage Match was the best match on the show. Monroe showcased her aggressive side, and I thought shoving the kendo stick into Grace’s injured hand was a nice touch (maybe for me, but not for Grace!). The same could be said for Monroe cutting Grace’s hair and then giving a devious smile, while also rubbing the hair on her face. Of course, Grace eventually shoved the hair into Monroe’s mouth. With Monroe winning at Heatwave, Grace coming out on top in this one makes sense. Can Grace finally win the NXT Women’s title? And what about Monroe?

  1. Je’Von Evans does it again.

Evans was spectacular in his match against Sami Zayn on SmackDown, and he once again shined in his victory over Josh Briggs at No Mercy. It was the right move due to the stat I mentioned in the predictions: Evans hadn’t won a televised match since August 19. He should be one of the top choices to eventually dethrone Saints for the NXT title. His performance in the United States Title Open Challenge could move him one step closer to the main roster, but there is still a lot to work with in NXT.

  1. Is Ethan Page a future double champion?

There have been multiple double champions in NXT. Page scoring the win against Tavion Heights was expected, but could ‘All Ego’ have bigger goals? As mentioned, Saints becoming the NXT Champion opens up lots of possibilities, including the two rivals reigniting their feud with all the gold at stake. He’s yet another superstar who’s ready for a main roster spot, but he’s needed more in NXT at the moment. A title vs. title match seems realistic.
